  1. You have got to be kidding???????? Most of these soaps don't even hold a candle to GH especially since the new director, producer, etc. have taken over. Are they jealous???? GH beats all of these by a mile. This fan definitely won't be watching, what for? And why wasn't Tyler Christopher's name submitted? He is a better actor than Jason Thompson and Domenic Zamprogna. The stupidity is astounding!!!!! And what about the little tyke who plays Spencer Cassadine he is amazing he beats out some of the above mentioned twits!!!! This is a joke.

    1. I know! Why even bother watching if you're a GH fan?

    2. GH writing and lack of storytelling (vs - everything's a fast plot point) is because of the new regime. What's really telling is the noms that jump out with a shot at winning aren't on the canvas anymore - writers didn't know what/how to write for them.
As for Spencer, that kid needs a meeting the board of eductation in a woodshed. There's nothing remotely entertainng/charming about that snot - again... writer error - Nikolas Cassidine wouldn't tolerate such behaviour from his child. Lack of writers/mgmt understanding of character history.
Will continue to root for GH though. It's still my personal favorite choice to watch - even if I do FF more than ever bofore.

  2. The writing has definitely improved since Guza left. Have you watched any of the other soaps? GH is definitely better. I do agree they leave much to be desired with character history. I still think little Spencer is a real hoot and I know they need to have the writers give him better manners but the kid is a good little actor regardless of the writing. A simple adjustment with manners is all that is needed with him, the kid is a good actor he could give lessons to a few of the adults. I loved his face when fake Luke threatened Emma that was priceless and the kid sure learned that his Cassadine name meant diddly to fake Luke. But the look was priceless.

    1. I used to watch a little OLTL & Y&R in the 90's, but I've always been a die hard GH fan. I was a OLTL fan during the Todd/Marty years and a little bit of Y&R when Scott Reeves (GH's Steve Webber) was first on that show.

Many people hate Guza and I agree that he systematically dismantled a lot about GH that was good in favor of redundant mob wars, making woman look crazy and too many dead kids, but he did a few things right. He brought us Spinelli, the hotel fire, the Metro Court hostage situation and in part helped launch GH Night Shift, which I did enjoy.

Now with Frank & Ron at the helm I've seen a return to the Friday cliff hanger, the Nurses's Ball and many old favorites returned, but the writing...it still needs work. On a whole, I think the show is much more enjoyable. I was honestly ready for GH to end in Sept 2012, because I felt it was really slipping at that point, but Frank & Ron saved it! For that, I think they're awesome. Unfortunately, I think the budget dictates a lot of what we still see wrong with the show. Our vets aren't on that much, because they are more expensive. New characters keep cropping up, because they work for less...it's really that simple.

The good thing is, I think our show is safe from being cancelled, at least for the time being. Ratings are up, budgets are met and thankfully the shows they tried to replace the soaps with failed, proving that the soap genre and it's fan base still hold weight!

As the for Emmy snub, well I think that has a lot to do with behind the scenes politics. Not to bash Steve Burton and the rest that excited GH to follow JFP to Y&R, but I think Frank & Ron are to the soap industry what outlaws are the wild west, a threat! They pulled GH from the brink, they proved you can stay on budget and up the ratings at the same time, which, in my opinion, pissed a few people off. Guza & JFP have a lot of influence in the soap world & I'm sure the camp at Y&R wouldn't have shed any tears if GH had been cancelled.

Also on a side note, personally I think SB leaving GH for a "break" and then going to Y&R a couple months later was a real F**k you to GH fans. GH made him, Jason Morgan dominated our screens for two decades and although I can understand an actor wanting a change, I think it showed a lot of disloyalty. Look at Maurice Bernard and Kelly Monaco, if there were ever going to be two actors who could have successfully jumped ship it was them and yet they stayed loyal. I really respect that. Say what you want about KM, but she's loyal to her GH fans and easily could have used her DWTS fame to leave Port Charles. I appreciate that she didn't.

Sorry for the long rant, but I guess I care about this silly nonsense and possibly need a life lol!

      Happy Sunday!

  3. Totally agree with the above. I think Steve Burton gave a real slap in the face to GH. GH made him. When he first started he was a young and inexperienced kid. He told GH he was leaving to take a break and more family time and that turned out to be total nonsense. His part on Y&R is really no great shakes he was much more of a major player on GH. I could see if he left to go into movies or prime time like a few of GH actors did, but to go over to Y&R that was total betrayal. I think GH writing is much better that Y&R and Days I agree it was politics pure and simple.
